Ne tik Jonus ir Janinas, bet ir visus visus kviečiame ieškoti paparčio žiedo šeštadienį, birželio 28 d. Renatos ir Herberto medelių plantacijoje Kentukyje, maždaug 1.5-2 val. kelio nuo Cincinačio.

Ką tik pasiūlysite – bet programoje būtinai bus muzika, šokiai, įvairūs žaidimai ir varžybos, laužas ir, be abejo, paparčio žiedo ieškojimas vidurnaktį.

Ką atsivežti?

Palapines, miegmaišius bei visa kita, kas reikalinga praleisti dieną ir naktį gamtoje – sulankstomas kėdes, žibintuvėlius, kt.

Maisto ir gėrimų, ypač ką būtų galima kepti ant laužo.

Sugalvoti bent vieną žaidimą bei atsivežti jam reikalingą inventorių.

Pagalvokite apsirengti Joninių arba lietuviška dvasia – bent jau vieną rūbų detalę!

Galima rinktis šeštadienį maždaug nuo vidudienio.

Kaip ten nuvykti?

Go south on 471 into Kentucky. When it ends keep going straight on route 27 into Highland Heights. Go about 3 miles to the entrance ramps to the AA Highway i.e. Rt 9 south-east, take the ramp east toward Maysville, drive 57 miles on the AA to Route 11. Turn right on Route 11 toward Flemingsburg. Go 12 miles to a traffic light just before Flemigsburg. You will be at Flemingsburg bypass Rd. Turn right onto it. As you go around the bypass keep choosing 32 east towards Morehead. Travel about 8 miles and you will see a covered bridge on your left. Go about 2 miles past it and watch for Farris Rd. Turn left (I will try to put some balloons on the post). If you will see Timmy's (not Jimmy's) Gas and Grocery on the right you passed the road. Turn around drive 3/10 of the mile and Farris Rd will be the first on your right. Go about 1,5-2.0 miles. The asfault ends, it will turn to gravel and you will start to go up the hill on the top of the hill watch for two concrete pillars about 4 feet high on your right and turn in to the farm (I will have balloons on the entrance). Drive about 1 mile and by the cabin turn left.

Celebrate Joninės with the

Lithuanian Community of Cincinnati!

Join us in the search for the magic flower of fern and celebrate St John‘s Day, the holiday of the sun and midsummer on Saturday, June 28 at the Tree Farm of Herbert and Renata in Kentucky – less than 2 hours from Cincinnati. Directions to the location are provided below.

What‘s up?

Whatever you fancy, but the program will certainly include music, dances, games, bonfire and, of course, the quest for the magic flower of fern at midnight?

What to bring?

Tents, sleeping bags and anything else that you need for camping.

Some food to share and beverages.

Think of at least one game / activity and bring whatever is needed for it.

It would be great if you could dress to the occassion, at least one clothing element featuring linen, flowers, etc.

When?

You can arrive from noon on Saturday.

How to get there?
